Join us for a free screening of Jamie Wyeth and the Unflinching Eye (2023, 1h 20m), a new feature-length documentary that follows the Maine-based artist’s journey of capturing iconic figures like John F. Kennedy and Andy Warhol, as well as his unique, sometimes unsettling, views of domestic life, the islands of Maine and his own personal ghosts from the 1960s to the present. Before the film, Professor Tanya Sheehan, Ellerton M. and Edith K. Jetté Professor of Art at Colby College, will comment on its representation of Jamie Wyeth in the history of American art.
This event is free and open to all, but ticket reservation is encouraged. Reserve your seat through the Maine Film Center here.
Frame by Frame is a collaborative program of the Colby College Museum of Art and the Maine Film Center. Film screenings are paired with speakers or programs that connect what we see on the big screen to what happens in the museum.
